Dress Requirements

Ballet

 For all ballet classes, hair must be pulled up in a bun and off of the neck so that the instructor has a clear view of the body.

Classical Ballet

• Pre-Primary and Primary: Leotard Mondor style # 1645 (pink tank style), ballet pink tights, ballet slippers with elastics (no split sole shoes or ribbons)
• Grade 1 & 2: Leotard Mondor style # 1645 (light blue tank style), ballet pink tights, ballet slippers with elastics (no split sole shoes or ribbons) and character shoes with pink elastic and the lower heel. 
• Grades 3: Leotard Mondor style # 1645 (navy blue tank style), ballet pink tights, ballet slippers with elastics (no split sole shoes or ribbons) and character shoes with pink elastic and cuban heel.
• Grade 4 and up: Black tank classic style leotard, ballet pink tights, ballet slippers with elastics (no soft pointe shoes), and character shoes with pink elastic and cuban heel.
• Boys Uniform: White short-sleeve leotard or tight t-shirt, black leggings, white socks, and black ballet slippers with elastics.

Beginner Ballet

• Black tank leotard, ballet pink tights, ballet slippers with elastics.

Advanced Ballet (Senior/Open)

• Leotards, tights and ballet slippers.

Pointe Classes

• Will need to purchase at least two pair of shoes. New pointe shoes must be purchased for the final show by March 2020. 

Creative Dance/Yoga Dance

• Bare feet
• Girls: Black tank leotard and leggings
• Boys: Black or white t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants

Modern Jazz

• Black jazz shoes
• Girls: Any colour tank leotard, tights
• Boys: Any colour t-shirt, sweatpants

Lyrical Jazz

• Beige jazz shoes
• Girls: Any colour tank leotard, tights
• Boys: Any colour t-shirt, sweatpants

Musical Theatre

• Black jazz shoes
• Girls: Black tank leotard, black leggings
• Boys: Black t-shirt, black sweatpants

Highland Dance

• Highland shoes (beginners may wear black ballet slippers with elastics)
• Girls: Black tank leotard, black leggings (short or long)
• Boys: Black t-shirt, black sweatpants

Tap Dance

• Girls: Beige tap shoes, black tank leotard, tights
• Boys: Black t-shirt, sweatpants No jingle taps or boots

• Proper dance attire

Spirit Flyers

• Ballet slippers or jazz shoes
• Girls: Dance leotard, tights
• Boys: T-shirt, sweatpants

Each class, except for the 10 week term classes, will require a costume for the dance recital in May. We try to keep costuming costs low, on average $50/person/class. Costumes are typically arranged and purchased in January, and are non-refundable.
